BCLA Webinar: Diagnosing and managing corneal contact lens complications

The aim of this webinar is to raise awareness of the different complications which can occur from all types of contact lens use. This will cover the severity and management of highlighted cases. The emphasis will be on clinical acumen and clues within the history and presentation. The access to appropriate care along with the importance of medical advice surgical care will be discussed. There will be opportunity for interaction via polling and time for questions. As a corneal specialist, I will raise points noted from our experience in BMEC with seeing issues related to CL wear.

SPEAKER
Mr Ankur Barua is the Corneal Lead at Birmingham Midland Eye Centre. He also has a honorary position at Birmingham Children's Hospital. He undertook an advanced fellowship at QVH, East Grinstead, dual periods of specialist training in cornea and glaucoma, and specialist training in the NW deanery. Mr Barua also is involved in teaching, and refractiveand specialist corneal private practice.
Ocular surface disease management plays a large role in his practice. He holds a MA in medical law and ethics and a PGDip, and is involved in multiple publications, guidance developments, conferences and events.
